GIA President & CEO Ms. Donna Baker and 28 Members of Governing Board Visited IIGJ MUMBAI on 12TH November 2011, along with Ms. Nirupa Bhatt, M.D, India and Middle-East, GIA.
They were received and taken around the Institute by Col S.K.Arora, (Retd) Head of the Institute. They were shown the various facilities of the Institute by Dr. R.K.Avasia, Head of Gemmology Department and Technical In-Charge and Mr. Uttam Das-Head of Manufacturing Department. . The visitors showed keen interest in various facilities available at the Institute for education in Gems & Jewellery Sector.
The purpose of their visit is to optimize resource utilization on a non-exclusive basis in the form of increased collaboration, co-operation and interaction for the furtherance of promoting and understanding the world of Gems and Jewellery and to conduct courses and seminars relating to the field of Gems & Jewellery, with GJEPC and GIA.
After going around the Institute, Ms. Donna Baker-President and CEO-GIA expressed her best wishes for the Institute, and commented in the Institute “Visitors Book” “A Very Impressive School. Thank you for your Leadership”.
