| |
With the increasing prices of precious metals and diamonds the market for fashion jewellery is now on a boom. Demand for fashion jewellery is slowly increasing thus letting the manufacturers find ways to create new and creative methods of making light weight fashionable jewellery to meet the customer expectations.
Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery has taken a step ahead by keeping their students in sync with the fast growing trends in the jewellery market. Students were given an opportunity to attend a free workshop on Creating Fashion Jewellery on 5th Dec 2011 at the premises of IIGJ. The workshop was conducted by Senior former faculty of Sir J. J. School of arts Achademy - Mr. Vivek Das.
During this workshop Mr.Vivek Das taught students how to create jewellery with the help of paper. The workshop was very interactive and informative. Students not only grasped the technique but also tried different variation in the given techniques to create more jewellery.
This workshop has been a source of inspiration for the students to create jewellery with materials other than metal. IIGJ has once again been successful in imparting such exclusive knowledge to the students to enhance their capabilities of working with the jewellery industry.
