GJEPC in association with IIGJ-Delhi and GIA India is hosting its first Career Fair in New Delhi for the Gems and Jewellery (G&J) Industry in the Northern Region. The event is planned for Monday, May 9, 2011 in Manekshaw Centre, Khyber Lines, Parade Road, Delhi Cantonment -110010.

The objective of Career Fair is to support the industry’s growth and encourage greater professionalism by providing a platform for employers and job seekers to connect. The event builds awareness of the many diverse career paths available in the gems and jewellery industry and attracts qualified professionals, not just from within the industry, but from important support fields, such as finance, marketing, communications and human resources.

Career Fair will offer attendees the opportunity to meet and speak with the industries leading figures on hand for one-on-one mentoring sessions. Participants will get a chance to answer questions related to the field of expertise to individual mentors to enhance their knowledge about the aspect of the business. It will helps them get a broad picture of the industry before they step into it.

As part of the recruiting sessions of the event, each recruiting company will receive a skirted table and three chairs (2 for company representatives and one for the candidate). The session will last for 2.5 hours (4.30 to 7.00 pm) where the companies will be able to conduct preliminary round of interviews with the candidates. As part of the registration kit, GIA will prepare a Career Fair Handbook which will feature the profile of each recruiter along with their contact details and their job openings. This handbook will be distributed to each and every job seeker who walks into the event
